Over the course of our lives, our skin loses its elasticity and becomes increasingly slack. Pregnancy and weight fluctuations also take a toll on connective tissues, to the extent that it is not always able to fully recover and repair itself. Skin tightening can be an effective remedy. At the prevention-center in Zug, we offer this in the form of Renuvion® treatment. It is a safe and effective way to firm up connective tissue, with the results of the treatment visible either immediately or within a few days, depending on the area treated.

FAQs about Renuvion®
What is Renuvion®?
Renuvion® is an innovative skin-tightening technique that can be administered either in isolation or following liposuction. It uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy to generate a plasma beam that causes connective tissue fibres to contract. The procedure directly initiates a tightening of connective tissue and simultaneously stimulates the production of endogenous collagen.
What does Renuvion® skin tightening treatment involve?
Skin tightening with Renuvion® starts with administration of a local anaesthetic, sedation or a general anaesthetic. General anaesthetic is primarily provided when the treatment follows liposuction. Once the anaesthetic has taken effect, the relevant areas are precisely treated using a helium plasma beam. This beam penetrates the tissue, significantly heating the connective tissue fibres for a brief moment before cooling them back down to normal body temperature. This tightens the fibres and stimulates the production of collagen. This short, deep-penetrating effect poses no risk of superficial burns; instead, it achieves lasting results in a safe, swift process. In cases where the treatment is administered following liposuction, your surgeon will use the same puncture sites to avoid the need for additional incisions.
After the treatment, you should allow yourself a few days to recover before returning to your normal routine. Following a skin-tightening treatment for the neck, you should sleep with your head raised for the first few days, using a neck roll or towel roll to elongate your neck. If the skin-tightening treatment focuses on other parts of your body, you may need to wear compression underwear. We’ll provide you with full details in the consultation before your treatment.
What areas of the body can Renuvion® treat?
Renuvion® can be used to tighten skin in many parts of the body, including the face and neck, upper arms, back, stomach, buttocks and legs.
Is anaesthetic necessary for skin tightening with Renuvion®?
Yes – but which type of anaesthetic you need depends on which areas will be treated and whether the skin tightening treatment is combined with liposuction. We will hold a one-to-one consultation with you at the prevention-center in Zug to explain the options open to you and the type of anaesthetic we would recommend.
When will I be able to see the results of skin tightening with Renuvion®?
You may be able to see some initial results immediately after the treatment, but you will see a change after a few days at most. The increased collagen formation enhances skin elasticity in the weeks and months following treatment, so you will only be able to see the final results after a few months, once all the wounds have fully healed and collagen production has been kick-started.
How long do the results last?
In general, Renuvion® achieves long-lasting results, provided that the patient’s weight does not fluctuate significantly and stress their connective tissue again in future.
When can I get back to my everyday routine after skin tightening with Renuvion®?
One of the benefits of Renuvion® is the short recovery time associated with the treatment. In our experience at the prevention-center in Zug, it is usually enough to take 3 to 7 days to recover from the treatment. After that, you can return to work and go about your everyday routine as normal. However, we recommend waiting two weeks before resuming physically strenuous activities. Depending on which part of the body is treated, you may need to wear compression underwear to support the healing process.
What are the risks of skin tightening with Renuvion®?
Renuvion® skin tightening is a very safe procedure – especially when performed by experienced physicians, such as our practitioners at the prevention-center in Zug. As with any procedure, patients may experience pain, swelling, slight bruising or a temporary feeling of numbness around the puncture sites. However, such symptoms usually recede on their own within a few days. You can also take standard painkillers as required to help you manage any pain in the first few days following the treatment. In rare cases, patients experience secondary haemorrhages and inflammation around the puncture sites; if this occurs, please contact the prevention-center in Zug immediately.
How much does skin tightening with Renuvion® cost?
Skin tightening with Renuvion® starts from CHF 2,900. However, the precise cost depends on the treated area and the treatment scope. As a result, the price can vary considerably from person to person. We would be happy to provide you with an individual quote following a no-obligation consultation and an in-depth examination here at the prevention-center in Zug.
